What does shipping run at tree protection on 15-20 tubes? I have some 2 ft tree pro tubes I bought through NWTF that have worked well on direct seeded stuff. They have to be 5-6 years old and still work, as long as I don't screw up and run a "controlled" burn past them.
I was having the same issue with my last order of tubes from TreeProtectionSupply. I have 4 year old tubes that I have never had issues with the zipties. I reached out to Tree Protection Supply. I guess they tried a supplier out of China for the zipties, and had received several complaints. They sent me a bundle to replace the defective ties.
Anyone have issues with bird netting redirecting the main leader into the tube or sideways?
I have had mixed results using tubes with shrub type plants. I have had my best success with chokecherries and wild plums. My primary reason for using with shrubs is marking location and getting them started with quick growth above my grass. The deer in my area are heavy browser so protection is key, so I attempt to use tubes for first year and then cage shrubs the following spring/summer. I purchased 50 Hazelnuts this year, and the nurseries recommended tubing for first couple of years.
