Some type of plantain? It’s everywhere on the side of a hill in a hardwoods bottom

I have hardly ever seen sedges grazed by deer or any other animal. I'd consider knocking them back a bit, is the area too big to spot spray them with herbicide?

It’s a wooded hill of maybe an acre, it’s a nice place to sit and enjoy nature and deer do pass through occasionally when acorns are dropping. I was just curious of what the plant is, not that any show grazing of any kind.
