The Massey

I don't even know anyone that puts up alfalfa anymore.I have I think 2 bucks that have shed 1 side already.
Yep, I was told by a farming buddy, who usually has around 80 total acres of alfalfa, that we wouldn’t have to worry much about storing small square bales, we would sell most of it without a problem. He also said, if we give a small discount, people will often come and pick it up right out of the field.

My back hurts thinking about 80 acres of small squares.

I put out a small bale of alfalfa a week ago. Amazing how many and how often the deer are using it. I'm concerned about bloat, but so far I'm not seeing any negative effects.

I think they're smarter than cows, I've been doing this for several years and rarely do they eat that much at a time, even when they're there a while. Every single day, there are deer on the 2 bales I put out 3 weeks ago, and they've hardly put a dent in the amount of hay yet. I would be more worried in an area unlike yours and ours, that didn't have much food, or natural forage.
