The Massey

Took the day off and helped the in-laws with a burn. Here’s a couple pics. I LOVE the Midwest, Kansas in particular. I hope we kick the drought finally this year, but regardless it would be difficult to find a place I appreciate more.

The view the other direction is better! If you look close, you can see my in-law’s house and headquarters.

Also picked up our biggest shed of the spring, I believe this is the buck Dawna almost got a shot at the last week of season.

Little bit better perspective, it’s a pretty good one.

Nice find and good luck on the drought this year!

You are right, that is beautiful country! And that shed should be a good omen for this coming season.

Taught a couple buddies how to top-work callery pears today. Here’s one of them giving it a go on one of his client’s properties.

Here’s last year’s graft off the Massey, it’s off and running again.

I had to trim quite a bit of growth off the trunk; I didn’t do much with it the end of summer as we got closer to season.

We got .67 last night.
.75 last weekend.
On a role with good precipitation!
Same forecast as KSQ for the weekend too! Niece is getting married. Rain would muck that up for her. So I'm pretty sure we'll get the rain.

If the rain comes, tell her we’re all very grateful for her sacrifice! It poured the day of our wedding and this year makes 20 good ones! :D

It has been a while since I’ve sat in my favorite chair in my day off and watched it rain. 2025 is off to the best start we’ve had in quite some time! The first track meet is today, but our oldest is battling a sore quad anyway, so I won’t be too disappointed if it gets rained out.

It looks like heavy rain falling in SE Kansas!
