I have always been a visitor on this site and was over on habitat-talk but the forum dictator over there doesn't believe in free speech so I got banned. I have been piecing a farm together for close to 30 years in SC Kansas. I've been lucky that when ever an adjoining landowner has wanted to sell they give me first choice and have been affordable price. It's made up of around 150 aces of ag and 150 acres of timber and other cover. It's not the best soil so this probably effects antler size but we try to harvest mature deer and take several does every year.I have planted around 4000 shrubs, mostly sandhill plum and fragrant sumac and 1500 trees mostly oaks. I also have around 50 fruit trees of different ages. Will try to load some pictures

Start posting! Always love the pics!

I haven't posted on the other site since you were booted. I go over there once in a while for the jokes thread but that's about it.

I burned some NWG tonight and of course the wind was never where it was forecast. and it calmed down to 0 MPH but it did ok. I got about half done burning about 15 acres of 120ft strips around 3 sides of a field.I will start shed hunting towards end of week, have you found any cat?

Very glad to see you begin a property journal! Can’t have too many Kansans posting on here, that includes you too Cat!! :)

I understand how you feel, but your banning reflects more on the mod on that site than it does on you. I'm glad to see you here and will be watching your journey.

Please keep this thread updated. Would love to see pictures! I love a good property tour. I’m a regular on habitat-talk too. Had to steer clear of the general discussion page for reasons you’re already well aware of. There are good folks and lots of valuable information there but good lord it’s a police state. Absolutely wild. Nonetheless, share some photos & more info, I have an unending love for a good property tour.

Heres my orchard,it has 32 trees. This will be 3rd year.I have other more mature fruit trees in back ground and most of it is planted in clover around orchard

Man the bucks hid their antlers good this year, finding alot less than normal, but have only been able to look for short periods of time. Been busy fighting fires or working on trucks and several other projects.Rebuilding an older Great Plains 7ft no till, and moved a well house to inside the barn.So I have an area that is pretty sandy and it has NWSG in it. Its around 5 acres and lays E_W with timber on north and south sides.I don't know if it was because of the sand or what but it's real thick stalked. I have trails going across it but haven't found a bed ever and no sheds.I mowed this year because was hoping to burn it and timber to north. I rarely go in any of this 80 during season. Thinking about planting cover or killing whatever grass is growing there as I think it's keep everything else choked out.I have a tree spade and could move some trees or plant sandhill plum or frangrant sumac next spring.
