And you're darn right. If men were in charge, the houses wouldn't be so damn big, and the garages so damn small.

I've got to chime in on the women factor here. I married a girl off of a dairy farm who knew how to cook, can, grow peas, make homemade doughnuts, and butcher chickens. 28 years later she still can't believe her good luck that someone saved her from the dairy farm. That woman buying all of the children's clothing at yard sales is half the reason I own more hunting land than I can remember. She's so thrifty we tell her to spend more money on groceries a regular basis and I'm the big spender of the relationship. Just saying it's possible to find girls like that. Put in an ad online for a single girl who owns lots of land and please send a picture of the land.
T-max, Keep your chin up! I’ve been in a similar situation and lost out on a house and some acres right next to where I grew up and hunted at the time. Since then, I’ve moved to a better hunting area, made some great friends and own a small slice of God’s country. If I got that first acreage, I’d still be stuck hunting rare 4+ yr old deer while the neighbors hammer every 3 yr old buck each fall. My hunting is a 1000x better now. I would have never guessed that 13 years ago. There’s a lot of good land and good areas out there. Searching for them is half the fun. Building them into whitetail paradise is the other half of the fun. An all new property and a clean slate will likely be more fun and rewarding than the original property.
True story. When my wife and I were house shopping I carried a tape measure and went straight to the garage.
