Question

I received some fruit trees in the mail that are about 5 feet tall. I won't be able to plant them until Friday. They were packed in what looks like moist wood chips. Should I put the roots in a bucket of water until I can get them in the ground? I'll keep them in a cool dark place.

No, don't put in a bucket of water. Keep roots moist and you will be fine.

I have the same situation. My trees arrived today and I will be planting Saturday at the earliest. I googled and they suggested putting moist newspaper in and around the roots. It'll take some TLC this week

Biggest thing is to keep roots moist and cool,you will be fine

Yeah I wrapped the roots in moist paper towels. Should do the trick.
