Planting at camp

We had a neighbor put in a short gravel driveway and gravel/sand camp last week. There is exposed dirt on either side of the camp. I’m thinking about some type of clover mix with white Dutch being the end goal. Probably a cereal nurse this fall. Something similar at the shipping container spot. Thoughts?

That upper photo looks like a beautiful setting with a nice view. I'd say seeding that bare dirt is an asap project, a clover/ grass mix sounds like a great idea. As much as annual ryegrass gets maligned, it would probably establish faster than cereals to prevent erosion. I usually don't try for a monoculture like clover for areas like that that may carry water runoff, but rather keep a permanent fescue/ white dutch clover mixture.

Still not sure what I’ll do with the freshly brush hogged field above. It’s less than an acre but might make a good little camp plot for deer viewing. The does are already there every evening.

It sounds like a good place for a throw and mow clover, then selectively kill off the weeds later.
