Food plots are coming along nice. Deer still have a ton of acorns to eat plus an endless supply of green briars. They've about finished off any remaining peanuts that got left behind after harvesting. Getting more pictures of turkeys than deer in the plots right now. But what can you do. My whole county is nothing but a big grocery store for these guys. Goes to show you that even age and nutrition makes a difference in a place not known for giants. This buck was killed probably less than 15 miles from my farm. They are constant putting monsters on the ground up there. I don't know what recipe they are using but it works.

This is a picture of the Honey Hole. It's probably 300 yards behind the house. You can always see deer down there. It is a natural pinch point and funnel plus it has two inside corners coming off of two fields (if that makes since). It has been a project going on 7 years. I keep pushing back the hedge and getting rid of all the sweet gums to release the oaks. By doing this it has allowed more sunlight to the floor and allows to me to plant during the fall

I call this stand The Green Mile. It is a long pipeline running through our place. It sits south of a large 400 acre tract that sits in the heart of my place. The 400 acres is literally a sanctuary with only two bow setups on the northeastern and northwestern corners. This pipeline sits about 100 yards north of one of our AG fields that was planted in peanuts this year. Since harvest it has been sowed in wheat to feed weight gain calves this winter. When sitting in this stand it look is like a green mile. I've got a couple lockons up and down this pipeline on some crossings but have never hunted out of the blind. From the shooting house to the end (another field to the west) is over 600 yards.
