Let's see your rig

Black Widow PTF V at 48#. 3rd year using this bow. 1st year I shot 3 blade broad heads. Switched to Badger 2 blade single bevel broad heads last year. Shot 3Rivers Archery traditional only arrows cut to 29" with 50 grain brass inserts in tip and 125 grain broad heads. This year I'm shooting gold tips for the first time with same weight inserts in the front and 125 grain broad head.

love the Widow TC. I had a PSA Greybark that I loved. Went through a really bad shooting funk a few years back and ended up selling it. DUMB! I think I will get another eventually.

Also like the Defiant, Bowhunter. My Maxxis is my first Hoyt compound. Got it during the aforementioned shooting slump with my recurves and have to say the beyond parallel limb design was a real game changer. First time I shot it, I had to double check to make sure I had actually released. So dead in the hand and quiet. Great bows.

Elite Pure 31.5" @ 72lbs. Gold Tip Velocity 300 Pro's tipped with a rage xtreme. Bstinger 12" stabilizer and viper 5 pin sight. G5 drop away rest. Hopefully it draws some blood tonight .

ALWoodsman, how would you classify that bow? Not really a recurve or longbow is it? Hybrid?

Very cool lines to the bow. How does it shoot?

My thoughts as well. That is one cool looking bow but I've never seen a design quite like that.

I'm not sure exactly what you would classify it as. Hybrid longbow? It is based on an ancient design. I have seen bows from Asia that are similar. I have also seen western native American horse bows with a similar design. I don't know how it will shoot yet. It should be in the mail in a day or two. I shot a bow made by Rodney Wright that shot good. From what I have heard this is a better bow than that one. Joe told me that he went with this design because of the performance at lower poundage. We'll see.

Did he use bamboo cores in that? With that riser and limb profile I would expect good early weight and with boo cores a really nice draw cycle. Would like to see an unbraced pic when you get it.

Time for a little bow porn. :D I'll start it off with mine. Hoyt Dorado w/ TradTech limbs 45#@30" - shooting GoldTip Trads tipped with some STOS 200gr heads(or 150gr Stingers). I'll try to get a pic of my compound up later.

Never shot one of those but everyone that shoots a Hoyt Dorado absolutely love them.

I liked it with the Hoyt limbs, but when I replaced them with the Tradtech BlackMax limbs from Lancaster, it really improved the rig. It was a little short at 60" for my 30" draw and bumping up to the medium limbs(62" bow) made it much smoother drawing. It is easy to convert any ILF limb to fit the Hoyt Riser and worth the investment. BlackMax limbs are very good bang-for-your-buck limbs but you could drop some cash for some nicer/faster/smoother limbs if you wanted.
I have big(long, skinny) hands, but I really like the small grip on the riser. Seems to improve my accuracy.
