My thoughts as well. That is one cool looking bow but I've never seen a design quite like that.ALWoodsman, how would you classify that bow? Not really a recurve or longbow is it? Hybrid?
Very cool lines to the bow. How does it shoot?
I'm not sure exactly what you would classify it as. Hybrid longbow? It is based on an ancient design. I have seen bows from Asia that are similar. I have also seen western native American horse bows with a similar design. I don't know how it will shoot yet. It should be in the mail in a day or two. I shot a bow made by Rodney Wright that shot good. From what I have heard this is a better bow than that one. Joe told me that he went with this design because of the performance at lower poundage. We'll see.ALWoodsman, how would you classify that bow? Not really a recurve or longbow is it? Hybrid?

I liked it with the Hoyt limbs, but when I replaced them with the Tradtech BlackMax limbs from Lancaster, it really improved the rig. It was a little short at 60" for my 30" draw and bumping up to the medium limbs(62" bow) made it much smoother drawing. It is easy to convert any ILF limb to fit the Hoyt Riser and worth the investment. BlackMax limbs are very good bang-for-your-buck limbs but you could drop some cash for some nicer/faster/smoother limbs if you wanted.Never shot one of those but everyone that shoots a Hoyt Dorado absolutely love them.
Thanks! I really like this bow, I have a twin to this one that is osage and wenge. It looks like a bumblebeeFly, that's a nice looking bow. Birds eye and wenge is a great looking wood combo.
I would love to try that bow out. I love that style.I had this one made by Joe Darnell. He just finished it. I should get it in a week or so.
