LC cereal grains with sunflowers

I added sunflowers to my LC cereal grains this year for the first time, plot looks good. I added sunflowers to my sorghum mix this spring and I don't think they ever got over 6" tall.

Sunflowers are an ice cream crop for deer...in an area with much deer density at all they are hard to grow...

I did ! Came on stronger than I anticipated. Here's after two weeks, mixed with WR. No use yet. Deer numbers way down.

rusty---I can almost guarantee they will get eaten. Mine usually don't start hitting them until they are about 6" tall.

I'm surprised. It appears as if the deer aren't touching the WR/Sunflower mix at all.

This little strip of GFR has really taken hold. They are not touching them either. I have see better use on rape.

Acorns falling? Just about every sunflower plant has been browsed on My small half acre plot. However, the deer are not using the brassica portion yet which is rape and radishes.

I haven't seen any acorns this year. Lots of apples, clover and alfalfa tho.

My went untouched til last week on a 1/4 acre plot. Then 2 days later every leaf was gone. They were about 6 inches tall before they were eaten to the ground.
