ISO Kansas City rural rental

Looking for a rural home to rent in the Kansas City area so I can split my time between the ranch at Dodge City, Kansas and KC.

Which part N-S-E-W? I am on the north side but you about have to get to Platte City before I would consider it rural.

My sons and families live at MO 152 and Green Hills Road. I am back in Dodge now, but over the last few days we made some loops looking the country over. We liked what we saw around Platte City. We were in Ferrelview, Hoover, Kerrville, Camden Point, Edgerton, Dearborn, Platte City, Farley, Trimble, Smithville, Liberty, Roosterville, Winner, Ectonville and lots of back roads.

Not too far from me. I'd like to find a little acreage in those areas myself but they are pretty proud of most I have seen priced.

Yes, the land prices leave me out also. Can find plenty of rentals in the city, but I am not a city dweller if I can avoid it. I, of course, would love to own some land there and work on habitat like I have at my ranch at Dodge. I know I would have quite a learning curve going from my arid homeland with annual average rainfall of 17-18" and soils with pH of 7.5-7.9 and few trees to more rain, acidic soils and lots of timber.
