ID grass clump in old field

I hope the photo is uploaded This grass clump is pervasive in what was a clearing in the woods. The clearing is now mostly cedar trees. My location is the Ozark mountains of northwest Arkansas. FWIW, this area was logged extensively in the 20's and 30's, then most of the settlers moved to more populated areas after the timber was cut. Lot's of old homeplaces and rock fences. Elevation is approximately 1900'. Thanks in advance. Scott
