Merry Christmas you filthy deplorables.................

Merry Christmas! Do you find that deer will use that area in the fourth pic down? I always worry about creating such a tangled mess that I’ve done more harm than good for deer.
Any of those specifically for bedding or just steering in the right direction?
Merry Christmas...Looks good! What’s in the spray bottle?
I dunno, those thick Clusters look so Random??? Perhaps they will work, worth a try if you have nothing else to do.![]()
A blessed Christmas to all.
The above pics look a lot like a chainsaw massacre... A shame for that ash tree, now the ash tree borers will starve.
I see several hickorys. Jim Ward says that if you hinge a hickory it will grow a new vertical leader out of the hinge, but, since that's a weak spot, the tree will rehinge itself about 5 to 10 years down the road, and keep doing this this through several cycles. Have you ever heard or seen this? It seems like the perfect scenario to a lazy person like me; trees that hinge themselves for the next 50 years...
Merry Christmas...I am still in hunting mode on our place and doing lots of bulldozer work for others right now. I hunt when I get a chance which isn’t often. Good looking tree work!
That's stump treatment for the trees I cut completely off rather than hinge.
Tip for today - on those trees cut them off about waist high like I did in the pics. That keeps you from dulling your saw on rocks, and it saves your back. If you cut close to the ground, you are constantly hitting rocks. If you cut up just a few inches above the ground, you are just creating something that you will trip on and possibly hurt yourself. By cutting waist high and stump treating, the deer will just walk around and in a couple of years you can walk through and kick the rotted stump off at the ground.
Which herbicide are you using and the rate of the mix?
That’s how I kill all my stumps...works great!Straight Gly not mixed with anything. It works great for me on everything so far - including sweet gums....
