I hunt deep hollows that are so steep an ATV couldn't get to the bottom. Been hunting this terrain for years. Now that my back is shot and I have a bad knee, I came up with a device that does all the work for me. Thought I'd share it. Not sure if videos are allowed on here, but doesn't hurt to try. . It's a welding project that I did before season, and at the end shows how it works. Hope you all enjoy this.... but most of all... hope it helps some other poor old broken down deer hunter

Yes! If I had an ATV, I would probably try parking it at the top of the ridge and do the same thing. I use to have a 3-wheeler back in the day. Hopefully I will get a 4-wheeler before i ruin the rest of my body. HA!
 
Although I don't hunt in that terrain, I can see other uses for that. I used to carry a 12v winch bolted to a plate with a hole in it to hang over a trailer hitch knob. Used it a few times, and it stored under my tool box. I've been thinking of mounting a small winch on the rear of my Ranger cab to help load deer and hogs. Piece of plywood for a ramp and they would slide right in ! A man can't have too many advantages, especially at my age. :)
 
You should get a patent on that. Lots of hunters need that when hunting steep terrain. In fact, I avoid areas that I don't think I could get a deer out!
 
I just thought of another use ! I have a quad-pod bow blind that takes either a winch and two guys or, (in lieu of the winch), about three other guys to stand the heavy sucker up. It's fine if you can get the Ranger behind wherever you want it, but you could get this winch anywhere. No more choosing a so-so stand location because you can't get behind it. Great idea !
