I was curious about one thing yesterday, that one thing is ‘‘what is y’all’s favorite caliber and/or gun model of all time?’’ I’ll start, my favorite is a colt python or a marlin lever action and my favorite caliber is probably a good old 30-30 or 357. Tell me your favorite gun and caliber and feel free to share your favorite ammo as well.

I’m not really much of a gun guy, but the all around rifle I use for shooting coyotes, to killing does in the bonus season, is a Stevens bolt action .223. I use cheap hollow points for the song dogs and 55 gr soft nose for the deer. The Mrs and our daughters use a Remington bolt action .243 with 80 gr ballistic tips for deer.

Favorite rifle was one of the Swedish Mausers I sporterized. But my eyes aren't good enough to use the peep sights anymore. So now I shoot a Remington 700 in 6.5x55 topped with a Sig Romeo red dot. I shoot my own handloads with a 120 gr. Remington PSP. Can't get those bullets anymore, so when the stash runs out I'll have to find a different bullet to load.
