Fall annual plot progress

This plot was planted on 8/26/23 by broadcasting Green Cover Seeds fall release. I usually mix my own but wanted to try their blend, it includes everything I usually try to combine.

Sprayed August 12th (Gly and 24,d)
Planted August 26th, roughly 100 pounds/acre

Good rain event right after planting then again about a week later. It’s been very dry over the past six weeks.

The deer were on it right away

Really greening up at ~3 weeks despite constant browse pressure

Really cool to see the exclusion cage difference!

Yesterday I added 50 pounds of WR and 50 pounds of WW. The forecast is calling for .2” this weekend and a better event at the end of the ten day forecast.

We were really only saved by the cooler temps and heavy morning dew this year. The forecast is calling for .4 at the end of the week. If that’s accurate, it will be the most rain we’ve seen since early September.
