Crabapple Question

Are crabapples at risk of cedar apple rust etc? I had to remove some apples because they never had a chance, I dont want to spend money if they have the same issues.

crabs seem to be a little more resistance but it just depends on the variety of crabs. I do have moderate rust on my dolgo crab but not enough to worry about. I do spray once in early spring but that is it. The only other spraying I do on my wildlife trees is for webworms.

Some do and some dont. If you buy a known variety, hopefully you can research and get the data. Many modern crabs are resistant to CAR. But not all are good for deer.
Two spring sprays can nip CAR if you are willing to do that.

I havent had any CAR on Chestnut, Kerr or Dolgo here. Just a touch on Hewes.
