Cleared Cedars, 2 years later

Clear cut around 50 cedars from 4 feet to 30 feet tall in this area 2 years ago. I've got a half mile of river bottom pretty filled with cedars, elms, cottonwood and a few locusts. The deer actually seem to bed in this clear cut section quite a bit. 2 years of sun and old seedbank and this is how it looks now. From thick cedars to a mix of native and smooth brome. Not ruling out mowing the brome in August and then spraying it 10 days after first hard frost.

Going to keep doing openings like this up and down the river with decent amounts of cedars left. They are so thick they are actually killing some of the cottonwoods.

Sorry, guess this should have been in native habitat management.
