Chestnut Question

I was able to pick a bunch of chestnuts today, and hopefully will get more next weekend. I know they need cold stratified, and plan to put them in the fridge later in the year. Question I have is, what do i do with the nuts until i put them in the fridge?

I'm kind of in the same situation. I collected a bunch of Sawtooth Oak acorns and Shumard acorns the other day. I went ahead and did a float test on them an put them in peatmoss ziplocks with holes poked in them and refrigerated them. I dont want them to dry out cause it's still hot here. I imagine someone that knows will chime in soon to advise you but I would refrigerate them in the mean time so they dont dry out.
