Buying trees now?

I've done exactly that with Stark trees for years and have never lost a single tree. Baby them in pots through the summer and plant mid-November.

I have right at a hundred fruit trees of various varieties and the vast majority were from Stark's end of season sales that were pot grown all summer.

The sale ended Tuesday - they close-out price all their remaining bare root stock for the year. They had Liberty, Freedom, Enterprise, etc for $9.99.

They are now shut down until the Fall shipping season

That's wild. Would love to see some pics

That's a good deal but with the hassle of taking care of them it might not be worth it for me. I can get nice 6' bareroot trees from our local soil conservation district for 13.00 each in season. Cant do a lot of extra care for a three dollar a tree savings. But the Stark trees list price are more than that. Remind us about the sale next year if you think about it

I debated for a solid week on getting those above mentioned trees, to the point that I actually had several in my cart and I eventually couldn't pull the trigger. I dont have the means to baby them until fall, and they would have had to go in the ground immediately and almost certainly would have died considering our typically dry summer.
