Buck Bombs/Scents

I've posted here a long time and don't remember anyone talking about using buck bombs. I gather that most people here feel that being as scent free as reasonably possible is the best option for hunting mature bucks. But, maybe someone will eventually respond and give you an opinion based on actual experience. Best wishes.

I have no experience with buck bombs, but I used scents in the past. Deer scents kind of remind me of turkey decoys. Sometimes deer respond positively, sometime they turn tail and run, and most of the time they ignore them. The only scent I've had pretty consistent luck with archery hunting is vanilla extract. It does not attract deer. I use it to position deer for a shot. I hang a cotton ball in a shooting lane. Very consistently, when a deer passes near my stand and catch a whiff of it, they go right to the cotton ball and sniff it. It just a curiosity scent for them. It is only moving them 10 yards or so, but it puts them in a shooting lane.

Like @Native Hunter says, I'm of the scent free camp when archery hunting.
