WGI_0014.JPG I have this buck the last 4yrs on cam. The 1st year i never saved the pics so I only have the last 3 yrs. I had to pass him last year as I only had a restricted tag, but he is a big deer, so I think this year he is mine. It looks like I used up the size limit. I'll try to post this yrs pic next.

I think I have this figured out now, the top pic is the second year I got him. ( I was the second year i had a trail cam) The year before his antlers were thinner. This year he is a spike, but his body is bigger. Am I correct that this is the same deer, or are there a lot of mutant deer around here in mid-Michigan?WGI_0018.JPG WGI_0014.JPG resize spike.jpg

I think you are right. Wow---big bodied mature deer with not much on top!

would be a trophy in my book

That deer is as rare as a 200" buck.Against all my better instincts I think it is the same deer. I can count the # of spikes I've seen over 2 yrs old on one finger. That with looking at hundreds of bucks every season. Very unusual

Definitely an interesting deer I'm in Michigan too and have seen a few mutant deer like this

Wonder if he is a steer? My stepdad took a similar buck back in the 90's, big body, very spindly rack, no mass, VERY weak for the area... turns out his nuts had been 'damaged' at some point in his life, they were pretty much non-existant except a nasty scar.

It'd probably mess up the testosterone levels which could result in a rack like that.

I hope to find out. I think he's fertile, there are a few more like him around.WGI_0324.JPG

He reminds me of my monster 3 pt I have on my farm. I have seen him from 1.5 until now at 4.5. This giant never did grow anything but a 3 pt rack. He has been on the hit list for my kids since he was 2.5 sporting the same rack he had at 1. They only had a coupe chances at him when he was 2 and he got turned down (dang it). Last year we had a ton of pictures but never did see him while on stand. I am guessing this year will not be any easier. He is named Elliot because the kids thought he looked like Elliot from the animated movie Open Season.

We even have friends that have asked permission to hunt our property for a chance at Elliot....lol. He is a legend.

Similar but Elliot has heavy beams (if you can call it a beam), one huge heavy spike and a fork on the other side. He goes straight up. He is a sight coming through the woods tearing things up.
