I picked up a few acorns today at my old high school in Charlotte, NC. Still loaded on 12/27!!

I’m leaning towards black oak. I thought maybe pin or shumard but the long acorns are driving me towards black.

Mainly smooth grey bark with vertical lines. Sorry, should have taken more pictures!

It looks like nuttall oak to me. I collected a bunch of the same kind and planted right after Thanksgiving because of the drop times. I was thinking they were nuttalls.

I like this YT channel. Here's a video they did on it. They call it a Texas red oak too. I've mainly heard Nuttall.

Exactly. Very similar but too long. Hybrid maybe?

Acorn size/shape similar to a standard NWO.
