OK fellow plotters I really need some help as I would like to avoid another year of failures.

Ive been in that exact scenario before myself. I would definitely up the seed rate, broadcast into the weeds and grasses, spray and roll it. I didnt cut the vegetation afterwards, I felt the rolling would be sufficient and as it dies down it wouldnt be too thick to smother the seeds I planted...

    Brassica/radish plant date?

No lack of deer usage. I plant several acres every year, our seasons are long in Nj, I like to have bulbs through Jan and Feb. Once they start softening up, my deer are done with them. Planting in August instead of July , I am still getting plenty of growth. A warm wet fall, the turnips will...

    2020 Eagle Soybeans

Ive planted eagles before, however I cant just justify the cost for the results. They were always mowed to the dirt by August. This year I went with regular ag beans, planting heavier and fertilizing I got a real nice stand of beans. Ive never been able to get them to canopy but it may happen...

    Brassica/radish plant date?

Im in New Jersey and I usually plant my brassicas in the middle of August. I found if I plant them earlier, I end up with rotting turnips and radishes in January.

    Soybean plot fertilizing and lime

I got the lime spread, I ended up just running the drag over it then drilled the beans. Its rained twice on them now and they are coming in nicely. I sprayed gly 2 nights ago. Hopefully with the deer density I have the beans can survive the summer until I can overseed the field with rye and...

row planter or no till drill?

I bought this from a guy who cuts down old drills and refurbishes them on Craigslist. He is in Brown County Illinois $2,000. I planted 7 acres of beans with it for the first time this year and so far Im happy with it.

JD Van Brunt Model B Drill settings

I have a drill I purchased last year and not sure which notch to set the lever on. I was reading the label and it looks like notch 12 will be 88 lbs per acre. Does this sound correct? I want to plant heavier than lighter. Im doing about 4 acres and have a good number of deer around. I have...

    Anyone broadcast seeding into beans?

I have one food plot of about 5 acres. I plant beans in the spring. Late July I broadcast brassicas in the bare spots followed by rye and wheat around labor day. I have a high deer density so my beans never canopy. I have done this the last few years and have food the whole season.

    2016 Covert Blackhawk Wireless Camera

I have the new 2016 Coverts and hate them. My cameras have been down more than they been working. It sucks when your farm is 800+ miles away. The Reconyx cell cam is the most reliable on the market
