I had a similar situation in Colorado. Shot my Mule deer at 60 yards. Same shot placement but more broadside. 70 yards run with little blood trail. I will shoot some Barnes. G

I had my scope cap made to Hornady precision hunter edl-x 178gn bullets, 200 yard zero. Old 10 was shot slight quartering toward 80 yards away, bullet hit perfect under the shoulder behind the leg. The angle meant lungs and liver which were a mess. The bullet exploded with no exit. Meager blood...
