    Stand storage??

Be careful, j-bird! If you mean the bottom of the rib cage on the left, your spleen is just below that area and while you can live without your spleen, it isn't a good idea. I have a couple of elevated blinds in my woods and they stay put. Have a great day.

    Well, I’ve got it !

Hope she is doing OK. My mother, age 91, survived it, but I'm not sure what for. It has weakened her and her dementia has gotten worse. No appetite and she has lost 25 pounds in a month. It will be one of those cases in which COVID wasn't the cause of death, but it hastened it.

    Well, I’ve got it !

I got an email from my Mom's nursing home that the residents will get the Moderna vaccine, Wednesday, January 6th. I'm surprised because it seems far from set that they have enough for the healthcare providers. I'm her power of attorney and am going to turn it down. She had COVID about 6...

    What’s your best?

This recipe has been handed down in my brother's wife's family and I know it is over 60 years old. However, it is far better than any purchased mixes that I've tried: Albert’s Jerky Recipe 3 pounds of lean deer meat cut in 1/4 inch strips (or thinner). When cutting the meat, slice across the...

    Last night sit

We've had no snow in Western WI either (West Salem). However, we had no acorns this fall. I have two small brassica plots that have been eaten off, mostly in the middle of the night according to the cameras.

I do the opposite. My commute is short, but fairly heavy traffic, so I don't even have the radio on while going to and from work. If I had a lot of highway miles to travel, it would be different. Thanks for your thoughts.

    What type of crab

My bigger problem is trying to grow apples within proximity of black walnuts. I actually cut several 4-in diameter walnuts down to make room for the apples, but it will probably take several years for the juglone to degrade in the soil and make it palatable for the apple trees.

    What type of crab

I followed the link to Tree Pro's site. It doesn't appear to be a named variety. Maybe they have found (or someone found) a variety that tolerates shade reasonably well. Every apple tree I've seen will grow better in full sun, but perhaps they found a variety that tolerates shade better than...

    Elevated box stands

I'm so old (and getting older, if I'm lucky) that I didn't even put a ladder to get into my blinds, but put in stairs, with handrails, and the whole business. . .

    Sad Day....

It sounds to me that you have your priorities right. I agree with Mennoniteman, keep moving forward and look for the hidden gems amongst the least popular stretches of property in the county. Talk to farmers, not realtors. Good advice.

    Elevated box stands

Glad you enjoy it. They provide some noise, movement, and probably odor control. I know a lot of people who don't want anything to do with them. I appreciate the solitude. They aren't cheap and of course, you don't want to put them up on someone else's land where you don't have control, or...

    Concordia Oaks

I'd love to have some also. Swamp white oaks definitely grow in Wisconsin. We are on the north end of the range for chiquapin oaks, but I'm going to guess they will do OK. My ground is frozen solid, but we can pack them in peat moss in the refrigerator over the winter and plant them in the...

Does anyone listen to podcasts while sitting in this blind or while in a tree? I have hearing aids that are blue-toothed to my iPhone and I'm in a box. I doubt it could be heard by a deer at 20 yards. My brother sitting next to me can't hear it. My biggest problem is my concentration is...
