Got a wild hair and ordered 10 pounds of Birdsfoot Trefoil. Never grown it before and would like suggestions from those with knowledge of it. Best time to plant? Mix with what? How to manage?

I mixed it with my alfalfa and clover deer seemed to Like it pretty well.

I"m not sure of foodplots but I do know it is a good choice for plantings around ponds. Pretty resistant stuff.
