Interesting New Solution to Drought for Crops

Pretty interesting little article about a young girl in South Africa who came up with an interesting natural polymer to help retain moisture in soil. Apparently it's made from orange peel and avocado skin, so it's natural and biodegradable, but it can hold hundreds of times its own weight in water. And it is pretty cheap too, at least until some mega corporation gets its hands on it and patents it and sells it for a huge markup. In any case, hopefully something we can use in the near future for food plots and tree planting!
