While crappie fishing Sardis Lake in Ms. years ago we headed up a backwater slough. Our boat was small and so was the slough. there was only about 5 ft of water on each side of the boat. There was no turning around. Paul was in front I had the motor. We got to a spot where there was a bend to the right. Straight ahead lying just out of the water was the biggest moccasin I've ever seen. She had 5 or 6 males slithering all over her. we cruised by at about 4 ft away. I thought Paul was going to pee his britches. We never fished that slough again but the next time I went with Paul he had a sawed off .410 with him.
