good summer plot in arkansas?

I was trying to decide what to plant on some ground that has never had a food plot on it. Realistically it might not get planted until late June/ early July. At this point I am debating on just waiting until August/September and putting in my fall plot on this piece of ground?

There is a lot to be said for starting now. Mow.rake. Wait awhile First spray with gly to get the weeds until control. soil sample. Lime.Till. Wait a few weeks , see if you need another spray. That's the way I'd go with new spot.Your going to turn up weed seeds every time you till.How good it turns out depends on front end prep.
