We had multiple Toms on camera in early April. A week and half before hunting season (mid April), the electric company hired right-a-way clearing crew to go through our farm, and continue to work the areas around us. Toms were gone after they came through. Appeared hens were already nesting though as I saw plenty, they seemed to be in nesting patterns. Never heard a gobble the whole trip.
Still had a great time - saw plenty of deer, and up to 5 hens, and a jake. Seeing any turkeys has been a big deal, as of 4-5 years ago, we would be lucky to see 1, maybe 2 hens on game cameras. Hopefully we get a good hatch this year.
