Mix Rate

Might get several different opinions but I plant 75# of cereal grains in My fall mixes. Turnip leaves are very large and an shade out other plants - radishes not as much.

75# wheat
3-5# turnips
8-10# radishes

If you want larger turnips and radishes then go on the lower side.

Thanks, I was close had 80/3/3 in my head.

I think you can go just a little higher on your radishes without causing any issues.

I think I will, I've got about 10 acres broken up in 5 sections around the farm I lease. If things work out will plant each section about a week apart to help with pressure.

Have you thought about tossing in some oats with the mix? Great early season draw and won't add much competition since they will die out with your first good freeze.

My spring plot that this is replacing has oats, sunfowers and cow peas.
This coming spring I'll take a 4 acer piece and over seed the ww with clover and turn that into a clover patch due to the damp conditions of that field less maintenance.
The other 6 acres I'm not sure what I'll do different next spring.
