Concordia Oaks

I am not sure, but think they are from 2011. Is the bushiness at the base making you think of DCO? It has a lot of low limbs as I never trimmed them.

Said it before, but those concordia oaks sure are pretty trees.

They sure are. They also grow quick and are fairly drought resistant. I have some in the woods that have never received a drop of supplemental water. In another 10 years there will be some good stuff for the deer to munch on for sure.

It is now 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1 and MDC says that the Concordia oaks are sold out. Does anyone know if they sold out in the previous 16 hours or do they just not have any this year? I should have bought some earlier this year when they were available. Oh well.
I went ahead and ordered some even though the order form said 0 allocated. Since they don't ship till Feb, March there may be some that don't get paid for or picked up. At least that what im hoping.

I didn't see them listed in the Missouri Conservationist Magazine order form when I glanced at it the other day. I assumed they weren't available this year.

Really ? that's ok. I have more seedlings than I know what to do with now, but not all of them are early producers like the Concordia. Yesterday I took my boat to the shop and they had a small Chinkapin oak probably not even 3" caliper that is loaded with acorns. And they are much bigger acorns than the one I found in the woods so I plan on getting some of those. If not all of them when they drop.

I think MDC simply didn't get any acorns last year or had some type of mishap at the nursery. I don't think they sold out that quickly. That is probably why the order form didn't have Concordias listed on it. There are several species that are sold out on the web site. I doubt that blackhaw, Carolina buckhorn, and hazelnut sold out within hours of them opening.

If anyone gets hold of some Concordia acorns, I would love to buy, pay shipping, or trade for 10-20 acorns.

Here’s the best pic I could find but mine are bigger than that.

I'll have to take a pic of mine with a penny. They are the same shape as the picture above but I think they are bigger. I'm out of town at the moment but will be back tomorrow.

Very good size. Most of them holding tight? It'd be nice if the drop time coincided with early bow season
