. Well with the ground half frozen half dry. I figured it was good time to mow last standing corn down today. Weather has been too bad to get any field work in this year do so far. Nice to be back in the seat.

Im jealous of your dry fields. We’ve still got 12” of snow in ours. We’ve got our first spring weather forecast this week so it shouldn’t last long. Still, I can’t imagine having equipment in the fields for a month given how wet things are.

Congrats on building a farm of true passion. I see your field of almost solid rocks on the service makes me wonder why I complain why I just picked up 3 gl of rocks out of my 1 ac clover plot I just planted. That small amount removed all visible rocks.

I admire your results.

Beautiful looking place. Been a while since I checked in and I missed this thread. Those are some great bucks you all took this year.

Cool drone pic. I usually just crash my cheap one. Love the tractors. What will you be planting in the plots? And are you planting the road you showed?

the drone is a DJI Mavic. Its easy enough I can even fly it. Eagle corn and soybeans will be planting as soon as soil warms up. Clover and oats will be planting in all the plots around the edge this year. Sunhemp and buckwheat will be planted and roll crimped this summer for our fall planting. all the roads will be getting the clover and rye mix to help from erosion. Plus along with trying to get better deer I have also been trying to help the ruff grouse have better habitat. I heard 5 drumming saturday when I was out after the thunder chickens.I like the drone to use for looking at my proposed future food plots and how we are going to plant our strips of crops this year. We are trying to have multiple food resources in our plots this year to help have a variaty of things to eat.

when you tell your buddies to widen the roads and they say that they did. Best to let them drive down them. Lol. A little chainsaw work and now the planter fits on this road.

started working on expanding one of my small hunting plots. It was about 1/3 acer it will be about 1 1/4 when I’m done. Broke hyd hose last night on excavator so have to run this morning for a new one. Pic of my feeding plot shows part of my clover and rest I planted in soybean and corn in alternating strips 50’X1000’. I put deer fence up around beans and corn to help with getting it going. Plan on getting brassicas in what gets ate and in the 3 acres of sunhemp I put in.
