Hugh Aljoe takes the time to discuss do's and dont's of UHSDG in the southern great plains. Two important points: 1) UHSDG is not a grazing system it is a grazing prescription for landscape objectives and 2) lower stock density rotational grazing may be more applicable on healthy pastures/rangeland or for higher animal performance requirement and higher forage yield with less recovery time. For wildlife benefit, planned grazing is a method to get more frequent disturbance in the habitat for enhanced plant regrowth and quality while profiting from a livestock enterprise rather than being a sink for disposable income!
