The Savage was cheaper and worked okay for a rebuild. The factory, Browning BPS was a favorite in the Hunter class. I also mounted a pistol scope on the rib of a Briwning Citori, White Lightning and won a lot with that gun.

Native, do you remember a woman that used to shoot in those competitions. Laverne Vincent, I think she did pretty good in the woman’s divisions

I was once given a record of the winners at the world shoot, and I found her name. It looks like she may have possibly quit shooting the year before I started. According to what I was given, she won the Ladies championship four times, and the last year she won was in 2000. I started competing right after that in 2001, and I remember the lady who won the year I started. Her name was Julie, and she was from Florida. Her son also shot in the Jakes class and had won two Jakes championships prior to when I started shooting.
