To be named later Montana farm

Great turkey hunt! Allow me to make a prophecy, and warn you about buying that fine Cadillac of a hunting blind is see in the pics. These things are way more addictive than you are prepared for, and it's a habit that's very hard to kick. In 2014 I only started with just one, like you did, only a small one, a 5' model that they don't make anymore. Now I'm almost ashamed to admit my level of dependency, this summer I'm putting up "360 Hunting Blind" numbers 15 & 16 on my hunting lands...

I want to buy a pivot for the upper field - can’t afford any more 360 Blinds right now!

I’m trying to figure out what shrubs to plant as a visual screen/windbreak. The soil is not great and the area is dry. The NRCS agent gave me a publication called “Conservation Trees and Shrubs for Montana” and I’m considering:

Buffaloberry, Silver
Caragana
Chokeberry, Common
Ninebark
Silverberry

Any experience with these or recommendations?

Id suggest looking at their pictures or going to a local Montana nursery and looking at these shrubs actually growing to see what they look like. For a screen it needs to be something that deer don't like to eat.

I noticed you were online and thought I'd just put in a request for some more Montana photos, it's been a while since you've uploaded any. Are you going to be out that way anytime soon?

I’m heading out next week and taking my wife for the first time. We are going to do work
on the house and get it ready for the whole family to spend the week of Thanksgiving out there. While there we will put together bunk beds for the boys (ages 2 and 4.5) and two double beds in the third bedroom. We are going to try Air BnB since the tenant didn’t work out. One of my neighbors is going to manage rentals for me.

Sounds like a good plan.
On another note, will Thanksgiving coincide with any deer season out there?
