The Massey

Good luck on getting the dominos to all fall! I'm rooting for ya!
We ran into major obstacles with electric and water when we built. Got very lucky that everything worked out in our favor.

Time to hire the water witcher with an apple tree limb.We got little over an inch last night,But it had to be one of the hardest rain I've ever driven in.And had pretty bad hail.Cracked on of the fire trucks windows. We were on the way to SW Kansas to help on the latest 100,000 acre wildfire.Got there at 2am worked all night and got home at 9pm tonight.Would have had to stay for tonight but had truck break down.Lots of options with water anymore. You could tote water in for showers and use delivery for drinking. But sometime rural water can be pretty cheap,Don't tell them it's a weekend get away.
Some of us guys can find water with a copper wire. But the minister at a local church told me he's pretty sure it's satanic powers behind it. I didn't buy into that but I mostly stopped anyway so as to not offend the neighbors🙃

Grandpa taught me how to do it as a kid. I could walk around his yard and find buried lines. Could also walk around my house and find water and electrical in the floor. Checked myself in the basement to confirm. Worked well. Haven't tried it in decades but think about giving it a go once in a while. Problem is I already know where all our lines are so I'm not sure I'd trust my subconscious to not trick me.

I don't have the gift, I do have a buddy who does though. He came and gave it a go a few weeks before we drilled, but it was still a dry run. In our particular neck of the woods, you have to find subterranean sandstone to get the water. While drilling, we found out we have little to none; therefore, no water. Interestingly, 5/8's of a mile away at the base of a long ridge, and the start of a good span of sandstone hills, the well driller found good water. And he said his hit rate in those hills is well over 90%. He was very disappointed that sandstone seems to peter out before it got our location. If my buddy's gift is legit, it might have been compromised by the presence of salt water deeper below the surface.

Sprayed the alfalfa today. Had another minor catastrophe. One of the hoses pulled off the boom w/o me knowing it. Lost about 2/3s of the tank.
Because getting water there is such a pain, it took a while to get back on track. But the job got done with no other mishaps.

Our trees got sprayed again.
This time it appears by pasture crop dusting drift. This is getting really old. And there is seemingly nothing that can be done about it. It’s like the culprits have diplomatic immunity.

Call the State and have them send someone out to test the vegetation (do it quickly as many herbicides can't be tested if you don't do it soon enough), call the landowner and ask what they requested to be sprayed and who they hired to do it, contact the company who did the spraying and request what they sprayed and what day the sprayed on. Check wind maps for the day they sprayed to see if they sprayed on a day that was herbicide restricted due to wind speeds. Photo-document the decline of your trees every day with a date stamp.

I know a lawyer who has successfully held sprayers accountable.

When the guy from the State came out to take samples he said that there had been a lot of complaints against a certain spraying company. They rely on people shrugging their shoulders and not pursuing damages.

Another thing you might do is file a claim with the landowners insurance. He is likely a business and has liability. If nothing else you make it known that you aren't happy with it and that you're willing to pursue his mistakes.

Who did you contact? The local extension office? Unfortunately, it has already been several weeks, so I'm guessing the herbicide residue is gone.

Just spoke with someone at the state who is going to send me a couple of links to get the process begun. She said they had a 60 day window typically, if they see the need to send out an investigator.
Good luck! My experience is that the State is helpful, but doing your own legwork is very important too. Document and date everything. Lots of pics. We hired an horticulturist to evaluate damages and replacement costs.

Looks like they hit a big chunk of the State’s Buffalo Ranch too
The manager is a good buddy, and he’s going to be doing some investigating himself. The very good thing is he was on The Buffalo when the spraying in the area occurred and got video of it.👍

That's awesome! I was able to video when we got sprayed. Very helpful!

If you can piggyback onto the State's suit you should be golden!

It's too bad when the rancher that is getting their land sprayed is so big.In fact if I mentioned their name everyone would know them, huh cat.At least I figure it was the same one that a lady came to county commissionin complaining about.

4x400, 4x800, HJ, and Jav. No polevaulters this yr. We had a smaller team than usual, but the ones we had had a good season.
