What species is this, I’ve been in southeast Louisiana all my life and never ran into this before. Python?

I'd be inclined to say baby rat snake, but I'm not sure about it.

Looks like it to me. I saw one on interstate a few years ago. Naturally I had to stop and move it.

Moved a spider off the highway a few days ago.

I stopped twice recently to help timbers cross Trace but sadly they were both already run over.

I'm not sure that I would pick up a tarantula. I had a fisher spider come running out of the hole between my legs in the dark early one morning, down my thigh then calf into my pants down around my ankles while sitting on the shitter. I finished my paperwork then carefully took my pants off and shook them out. Damn thing had already bit me on the side of my pecker.

Yuck!!! I'm ok with big spiders because you always know where they are at. Little spiders creep me out. I certainly don't want any "direct injection" of viagra in my pecker! I would have went bat shit crazy!
