New Equipment

I love my hydraulic top link on my tractor too. This is one of those items that I didn't know how essential it was until I had one, now I'm wondering why tractor manufacturers don't install these as standard equipment?

When we were up for turkey, we finally got around to installing the dual rear remote kits on the Kubota L4610 and hooking up the new hydraulic top link. I ordered it last summer. The old guys should start putting it to real use in the next week or two.

It went with the OEM kit, and it wasn't cheap. I can understand why that config is an option and not standard equipment.

I got that really heavy duty one and all the hoses and fittings, category 2, for $359, I thought that was a great value. It's been working without a hitch (pun intended).

Lol. Since the tractor is 20+ years old now, I had to order the top link from W R Long. It looks nice and heavy duty. Before ordering they wanted a bunch of measurements and which tractor is was going on. When it came, it was marked for the specific tractor and all of it's small siblings, so I'm assuming it was an exact match to the original OEM.

I took the tractor with the land lever to the farm today. I first did some light leveling and smoothing on soil that I had prepared with the 35G earlier this spring. It did a great job with that with no tines deployed. Next I decided to work on the entry road. It is so compacted it is almost like cement, but it has huge pot holes in it. There was no lose stone at all. In addition to deploying the tines on the landplane, I also used the tooth bar on my bucket. That helped a lot. It took quite a few passes, but eventually I go enough loose material to fill the huge pot holes. It is not perfect. It really needs more stone, but it is much better than it was. We will see what happens later this week when we get rain. It could use quite a few more passes, but I had other things on my todo list.
