Looking for ideas on how to store things on the tractor.

Looking for ideas/pictures on how you guys store/hold things on your tractors while working on your properties.
From holding drinks (my magnetic holder broke in week), chainsaw, gas line trimmer. Given I will have something attached on the 3 point a box attached to it is not an option.

Is it safe to drill into the roll bar, mine is fixed?

Thanks

I've also always wished tractors would have bigger toolboxes or racks to attach stuff. If your roll bar is tubular there won't be any problem with drilling up to 3/8" holes anywhere in it. If it's not tubular, but I-beam or C channel, you can drill the flat center of it, but not the flanges. You can also use long hose clamps around it to attach stuff.

Well I assume you don't have an FEL......because if you did you wouldn't be asking the question because mine has had so much different crap in it it isn't funny! It's about as handy as a pocket on a shirt!

I have a large adjustable wrench on a bungie cord for adjusting the hitch (because it's never where I need it to be otherwise) and other than that I use the dif lock as a drink holder. Other than that it goes in the bucket of the loader or it's ratchet strapped to whatever I have on the hitch! I have looked like a real hillbilly before putting up stands with them all pilled into the loader and strapped to my bush-hog! Looked like when Jed loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.....Hills, that is!

I'm probably the only person this forgetful, but every time I put stuff in the FEL I forget that it's there, dump it out and drive over it.

Nope - I have done it as well. Sometimes I even take off and hear something up there clanging around and have to stop to see what it is! I "find" all sorts of things in there!!

Mine is tubular. Going to look to add landscapers hooks so I can hang the trimmer of the back of the rollbar.

My tractor has a FEL and I use it often to transport seed, fert etc, even did some of that today, but never felt comfortable putting in the chainsaw or the Kombi trimmer given their cost and the potential of running something over like you guys mentioned.

I don't know why they don't come with a rack that goes over the hood.

I have the same problem. I will be adding some ammo cans to the FEL uprights, welding in a new gauge plate up and inside my cab to hold my Microphone radio, radio and speakers, and backup camera monitor.

I bought a large ammo can to make a tool box out of, just forget to put it on every time I am at the farm(going this weekend). I put a set of ATV gun racks on the dash of the tractor to hold my rifle. It seems that when I decide not to take it, I see things that need killing and if I have it, I don't. Most things I need go in the bucket. I have strapped my Yeti soft cooler to the 3pt hitch and my hard cooler rides on the rotary cutter. I would like to add a place to put a chainsaw, but I don't use one enough to think about making it and just stick it in the bucket. If I didn't have so many trees around and drive places that are tight, I think this would be an awesome thing to have, but I would have it busted in a month.

I have learned that as long as I keep an eye on things AND empty the loader once I get to where I am going I grossly reduce the chance of something falling out and running over it. I also try to not put anything in there that want go entirely in the bucket..... I had a pole saw in there once and the handle stuck out about 2 feet and I caught it on a small tree and leverage took over! It damn near swung all the way back and hit me!!! Yep - sometimes you learn the hard way! I saw once where I guy essentially welded an expanded metal "screen" with hinges on his bucket with a latch to fix the issue and it had pins in the hinges to remove when he wanted to use the loader as intended. I have also seen expanded metal added to fixed ROPS systems with carabiners to hold tools and the like as well. I have seen larger tractors have a piece of metal welded to the frame and a metal tool box welded to it as well to run along the "fender" area. Most of what I have seen is "home-brew" type stuff which typically involved welding and some imagination. Some times manufactures offer accessories for tool boxes and the like but they tend to be real expensive and may not be available for smaller tractors.
