Hodag Hemp Rope Scare off Mature buck?

I put out a hemp rope from Hodag this weekend. This buck has been regular but last night he seemed a little skittish of the new rope. Did I scare him off or will he bounce back? Anybody ever had any negatives from putting out scent ropes? He smelled it and kinda walked away fast. The other buck he was with maybe a 3.5 y/o, didnt seem as skittish. I appreciate any advice

Takes a little time, and it's still a couple months away from when it can really benefit you. I wouldn't worry about it. Ropes didn't work on our place, but our deer are weird. lol

The negatives a simply humans going afield. You can have the same reaction after checking the SD card or changing batteries in a trail camera. That deer won't leave the area because of that reaction.
