Forest Stand Improvement guide

Downloaded after this post, and have started reading. I am liking what I have read so far. I also downloaded his pamphlet on Native Grasses a couple of years ago as well.

I didn't know that Dr Craig was such a bird man.

I do take exception to his stance on hickory trees. He also said that two guys with saws and hack hammers could bring a stand of 10-15 acres to 30% less canopy in two days. Granted, I'm taking out more like 70% of my canopy but it took me 4 months. Perhaps I'm too lazy?

Ha! I don't think anyone who has seen your work would accuse you of laziness.

That was a good read. I liked the breakdown on how much sunlight and trees to harvest for different objectives. I’ve been curious about how much to open up to promote good bedding cover.
