Chestnuts dropping early this year

Anyone else having their chestnuts dropping a bit early? I'm wondering if it's due to pretty dry conditions the last few months.

I picked up a half gallon of nuts today from two trees that are always this early. The first I noticed on the ground were on 9/8 or 9/9. I always say that 85% of my chestnuts drop from 9/15 to 10/15, and a few go into early November. The weather doesn’t seem to affect them much, unless a late freeze stops the crop. That doesn’t happen often.
