FarmerD Active Member Jun 7, 2018 #2 Assuming the ph of the clover plot is where it needs to be, adding lime over top, will not be a problem, at all. It just takes longer for the lime to do it's job, deeper in the soil, but it's a great "maintenance" option. I do it all the time.
