My plots of clover, daikon radish and chicory are doing awesome. Lush, green and thick. I know what to expect with the clover and the radish as winter progresses but how will the chicory do after below freezing temps?
I myself don't field dress my deer. I have killed deer in six different states in the south in temps as high as mid 90's. Field dressing exposes the inside of the deer to bacteria and introducing any kind of water can enhance the growth of bacteria. Indians and early pioneers killed deer all...
I bought the seed on sale after last season.
45% mixed clover
45% chicory
10% daikon radish
Might do some oats as a nurse crop and then some time in late September early October going to over seed with rye.
Going to use a Solo hand spreader to spread clover, chicory, and daikon radish seed. Seed is close to being the same size. Mix together or spread seperately?
I agree. With the work you are doing you could just as easy plant a substantially better plot. Don't sell yourself short on the "no plow" mixes. What you are describing is basically what others have touted as "Throw and Mow" technique with great results. Look it up.
Tractor Supply had the lime on-sale back in March for $2.99. That is when I scooped it up. Maybe they changed up based on marketing recommendation ie; put it on sale when all the suburbanites are planting flowers.
Thanks for the feed back now another question. Going with soy beans. I intend on discing the field, I don't have a cultipacker but I do have a chain link fence drag. Question: On a prepared seed bed should I lightly disc the beans in or use the drag? I know recommended planting depth is an...
First off I wasn't going to plant a spring/summer plot because I thought the farmer was going to plant soy beans and figured why waste the money. My food plot is 2 acres of grown over field sandwiched between two large ag fields that I tilled under back in January. It turns out they planted...
I have had the WhiteTail'R Scent Purge 50 unit for three seasons. I have a basic wood cabinet that I hang my clothes in. I drilled a hole for the power cord and seal the seams with tape. Hang my clothes in it and let run for 24 hours. Clothes are a 100% scent free. I have been using an Ozonics...
