I remember years ago I would actually take peroxide to the stand with me on all day hunts to rinse my mouth after eating my lunch on stand. One time I had just finished rinsing and spit the peroxide on the ground right at the base of my tree when I noticed a buck heading my way. He went directly...
I know this is an old post but I haven't been here in a while. Sometimes work just gets in the way.
I have struggled with the windrows left by brush hogging for years. I just couldn't stand the way the mowed field looked when done.
I just happened upon a stalk chopper/flail mower like...
I actually have been planning on building one of these harley type rakes for my rocky ground. Just finding the time is proving to be difficult. I have the drum and material to weld on it already. Maybe next year.
I am in a constant battle with rocks here.
I usually pick the bigger ones out for sure and then just plant into the smaller ones and roll the rock down.
I actually just wrote then deleted a long post in the clover thread about my clover not going dormant because of the timely rains and cooler temps this summer. I deleted it afraid I may jinx myself and get hit with a dry hot spell.
It is just early August and it can sure change in a hurry or...
I did manage to get 2 inches out of all that rain. Places all around me had up to 6 inches. 6 would be too much in those kind of storms. Just South of me a town had 2.6 inches in 40 minutes.
I have one 3 acre plot that I have done most of my rock picking on. I remember the first time I plowed the ground after having it dozed I was impressed with the lack of rocks. It came a good rain and I looked at it again to see nothing but rocks. I try not to work the dirt much on the rockiest...
Weirdest thing I have ever seen a deer do I guess would be a doe I watched stick her entire head under water sometimes up to almost 30 seconds only to come up with a mouthful of some sort of grass that was growing on the bottom of the pond.
This is a very good point. It would be great to be able to see what the outcome was good or bad.
Another thing I always wished could happen was that in the name this plant section that the outcome could be put in the title so it would be easier to find what your looking for.
That's what I was thinking off the top of my head but I just looked at a label online and all I found there said 16 oz. per application.
Looked further and it said for clover do not exceed 16 oz. per acre per year.
I don't trust a forecast at all. My place is notorious for missing out on rains. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many times this year I have had good storm fronts coming only to have it split just West of me sometimes within a mile and miss me entirely only to come back together just to...
When I spray I use 24 gallons of water per acre with a fine mist. I can barely see any wetness on the vegetation when I come back around. There is never drops on the leaves.
