Yes, From Missouri. Plan is to kill the cool season grasses this Fall. From there, I am considering putting a section in switchgrass and portion in conifers, but just wanted to hear opinions on this. Thanks to both of you for replying already!
I was thinking, instead of planting switchgrass for deer bedding cover, has anyone had any experience planting conifers like a Christmas tree farm? How far apart do you space them? What conifer varieties would be best for this ?

If you were to plant a new orchard today and could only plant 10 trees for deer hunting attractants in this orchard, what varieties would they be and why?

I waited until march/April to girdle and spray 1/3 garlon4 & 2/3 diesel fuel mix on my maples.
Well the sap was running by then and I got very little success killing them.

I have a newly constructed pond dam I want to plant in cool season grasses to help with erosion control and allow me to mow a couple times a year.
Any suggestions as to what type?
I am trying to avoid deer food so it doesn't end up competing with my foodplots nearby.
I would assume I need to kill off all the cool season pasture grass. I don't have much equipment other than a sprayer and mid size tractor. This is not flat or steep ground, but more rolling I would call it.
