I’m in the same boat have apple scions coming from burnt ridge and also 100 antonovka and 50 OHxF97 coming from williamnette and haven’t heard a thing in a week. Already got large order of apple scions in from queener farm out of Oregon but looks like might all be a bust with Washington state...
Would it be best to take some of this years small growth to graft on to a male tree or should I prune female back harsh in hopes of better grafting material the next year?
Place in bucket add water mix with drill and drywall mix paddle pour out seeds will sink to bottom pulp floats repeat til you just have water and seeds at bottom of bucket seeds that float usually aren’t viable same as acorn and float test

I’m new to grafting apple trees has anyone had issues with grafting Arkansas black onto m111? They have took but this far have only grew 3-6inches where other variety’s have grown anywhere from 9 inches to 2 feet.
I have 39 growing on m111 in a nursery bed behind house was just a though bc Lowe’s has a couple yellow delicious semi dawf in my area for 6.25 a tree thought I might take a chance buy a few and give it a shot. I have a few wild crabapples on my small 43 acre hunting area and was just thinking...
Could a man buy a big box store apple tree that isn’t disassociate resistant and graft say a blight resistant apple varieties to it and the tree become resistant or would I need to cut all the way off and cleft and bark graft to achieve this
Would the water absorbing crystals or polymers added to the soil and potting mix help with survival for locations that you simply can’t get to but a few times in the summer hunting camp and house 4 hours apart and with toddlers hard to get out and water on routine basis.
